March Magic

Wondering when to come to Niseko? Why not take a look at March for less crowds, a wide choice of accommodation, fun for the kids, more sunshine and fantastic deals. With accommodation in Niseko often booking as early as February the preceding winter, those who are unable to finalise plans early on can often be left wanting on accommodation options, especially during peak dates. The solution? Why not consider a March adventure?

Less Crowds

Crowd levels in Niseko reach their most comfortable point in March, offering a more relaxed skiing experience. With the peak season passed the result is shorter lift lines, less crowded runs, and a more peaceful mountain atmosphere. On a powder day fresh tracks go begging and through the month there are usually a couple of fantastic fresh days often complimented by blue skies. Restaurants are also much easier to book and walk-ins welcome Similarly you won't be fighting for a spot at the bar either so it's a great time to socialise with friends.

Weather & Snow

As mentioned above powder days are still a possibility right through March with some fantastic days had by those who time it right. It is also the less snowy days that make March so good, the weather tends to be settled and the snow base at its highest for the year. Frequent snowstorms are replaced by frequent blue skies meaning great visibility, less clothes, clear goggles and soft spring conditions under foot.

Best Times For The Kids

March is a fantastic time for families, with less crowds, settled weather and the opportunity to get accommodation close by the lifts meaning less hassle to get everyone up and sliding in the morning. With cheaper accommodation you can stay longer meaning more time for the kids to get on snow. Skiing and snowboarding for the little ones is also much easier to manage without the need to worry about cold hands, foggy goggles and multiple layers. The snow conditions in March are often easier to learn in with the lower slopes soft and forgiving. Plus clearer days make for clearer vision which in turn creates a better learning environment.
